Have a holly, jolly Christmas, its the best time of the year. Say hello to friends you know and wash your clothes in all-tempa Cheer.
I can’t believe I am thinking and writing about Christmas. I am more focused on Trick or Trunk and how we will decorate our cars to the event. By the way, we can still use you to open your trunk on Halloween.
Like it or not, however, we also have to be thinking Christmas.
Firstly, and unfairly (for pastors) Christmas Eve this year is on a Sunday. So it takes a little planning to schedule services:
Sunday morning at 10:15, A simple service of the worship of God celebrating the Fourth Sunday of Advent
Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Service of Light for the whole family.
Let’s now talk decorating the church for the Advent and Christmas seasons. The decorating will take place on Sunday, November 26 following our Sunday morning service. “Un-Decorating” will take place on Sunday, January 7, also following service.
We need your help for both. If you can help with any part of the decorating process, it would be wonderful. Rather than ask one person to take on the whole load of oversight, our Worship, Arts, and Prayer Commission is breaking the decorating down into categories such as “Wreaths, “Garland,” and so forth. If you feel called to help give Glory to the Lord through our worship space, call or email Elder Sid Hough or me.
Many October and Christmas Blessings.
Doesn’t that sound funny?
Grace and Peace, Pastor Steve
